Sanfred Jordan

Sanfred A. Jordan, 79, of Lake Charles died Sept. 23, 2011 in the comfort
of his home.
Mr. Jordan was born and raised in Pickering and has and lived 57 years in Lake Charles. He was a 1951 graduate of Pickering High School and attended McNeese State University. He retired after 30 years of service as a clerk
with the United States Postal Service. Mr. Jordan enjoyed woodworking, gardening and made “THE BEST” chicken and dumplings ever. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 20 years.
He leaves to honor his
memory, his loving wife of 56 years, JoEllen Foshee Jordan of Lake Charles; four sons, John Sanfred Jordan and wife Susan of Katy, Texas, Keith Alan Jordan of Baton Rouge, Timothy King Jordan and wife Mary of Lake Charles and Philip Clay Jordan and
wife Drew of Anacoco; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Reeks of Monroe and Alpha Martin of Leesville and one brother; George Jordan of New Boston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Alfred; three sisters,
Margie Foster, Mary Jane Burgess and Donna Faye Pace and one brother, Joe Jordan.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Francis LaRocque and Vernon Chevallier will officiate. Graveside
services will be at 4:30 p.m. in Cooper Cemetery in Pickering. Visitation Monday will be from 5-8 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
