Dorvan Keene, 70, of Slagle passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011
Mr. Keene worked civil service as a Civil Engineer for the U.S. Air Force. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and hunting. A few
deer will be thankful he is gone this year. Also a special thank you to his helpful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Keene and Ruby Poe Temple; and sister, Alice Fulks.
Mr. Dorvan is survived by his sons,
Jerel D. Keene and wife Amy of Kisatchie, and Dorvan E. Keene and wife Sandra of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Christopher, Micah, Selah and Emily; and previous wife: Freddie Keene of Natchitoches.
Visitation will be Sept. 22 from 2-10
p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. The funeral service will be held Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Hixson
Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Slagle under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of
Leesville.
