Wanda Sue Cooley

Wanda Sue Johnson Cooley, 68, of Leesville, passed away on Saturday, June
11, 2011, in Alexandria. She was born on September 17, 1942 to Murray and Dezie Perkins Johnson and attended school in Rosepine.
On June 2, 1956, she married Coleman Cooley and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. For many years she
worked for First Baptist Church of Leesville and was a member of First Baptist. She also opened a daycare at her home and was MawMaw to many children in the area.
Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, at Castor Baptist Church of
Leesville with Dr. Glen Cooley, Dr. David Remedios and Pastor Mark Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until
9 p.m. today, Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Castor Baptist Church and from 9 a.m. until service time at the Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Coleman Cooley; mother, Dezie Johnson Chapman; father, Murray Johnson and brothers,
Sherman, Herman and Charlie Alton Johnson.
Survivors are daughters, Debbie Hagan and husband Harlan of Hicks, Marilyn Deason and husband Wayne of Leesville; sons, Douglas Cooley and wife Sandy of Leesville, Lynn Cooley and wife Alisa of
Leesville; brother, Murray Walton Johnson of Rosepine; and sister, Janie Sue Johnson of Leesville; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
