Funeral services for Rev. Joe Johnson, 64, of Merryville, will be held Monday, May 30, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Beth-El Apostolic Church in DeRidder with Rev. Roy Hoosier officiating.
Interment will be held at Beauregard Cemetery in
DeRidder under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, May 29, 2011, from 1-8 p.m. and will continue Monday, May 30, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Beth-El Apostolic Church in
DeRidder.
Rev. Johnson passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011, in Merryville.
He was a minister and evangelist of the Apostolic Doctrine for 45 years and was interim pastor of Beth-El Apostolic Church in DeRidder.
Rev.
Johnson was preceded in death by his father, W.A. Johnson, and his brother, James O. Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Suzy Walker Johnson of Merryville; sons, Stephen L. Johnson and wife Ashlee of Denham Springs and Seth Layne Johnson
and wife Meagan of Alexandria; three step-children, Lynette Myers and husband Richard of Rosepine, Anthony Griffin of DeRidder and Suzanne Griffin and husband Steven of Alvin, Texas; his mother, Mona Bea Johnson of DeRidder; one sister, Kaye Owens
and husband Danny of DeRidder; five grandchildren, Lauren Kaye Thomas Bryant and husband Brandon, Louis Johnson, Bryann Ann Johnson, Kaylee Elizabeth Johnson and Tye Houston Johnson; six step-grandchildren, Charity, Laura and “Lil” Richard Myers,
Kaylee Griffin and Brayden and Hayleigh Griffin; and one great-grandchild, Kaydence Capri Bryant.
Pallbearers are Keith Walker, Steven Griffin, Danny Owens Jr., Anthony Owens, Raymond Strickland and Mike Moses.
