Mary Thelma Wingate

Mary Thelma Davis Wingate, 84, of DeRidder, passed away on Sunday, May 15,
2011, in DeRidder. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Ministers officiating will be Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Joey Rudisell. Interment will follow at Marlow Cemetery in
Cravens, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder.
Thelma
was born on August 12, 1926, in Many, to Chester Colistus Davis and Nancy Missouri Bass Davis. She was a native of Many, and lived most of her life in Cravens. She was a head cashier-manager at the Air Force Exchange, England AFB of Alexandria and
also at the Post Exchange, Fort Polk. She was a member of Marlow Baptist Church where she was a very active member, and she was a pillar of her community. She loved and she was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her
husband, Obie Sears Wingate of DeRidder; one son, Landry Reid Wingate and wife Kittie Cunningham Wingate of Marlow Community; two daughters, Mary Virginia W. Wingate of DeRidder and Diana Wingate Hickman and husband James L. Hickman of Hemphill; one
sister, Mikie Perkins of Leesville; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Words of comfort may be share with the family at www.labbymemorial .com.
