Waynon Willis Myers, also known as Will, died peacefully while in the
company of family and friends, Monday, April 11, 2011 in Austin, Texas at the age of 63.
Waynon is survived by his son Henry Carl and daughters Jessica Kathryn and Sarah Elizabeth and sister Olivia Earle Gontarz. He now rejoins his son
Charles Perry and parents, Reverend Earl and Ethel McInnis Myers of Orange, Texas in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Born October 23, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas, Waynon was an eighth generation Texan. He was a childhood resident of the
Perkins Settlement near DeQuincy and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where his father Rev. Earl Myers was pastor. He was a current member of Glade Branch Baptist Church in Cravens. Waynon was an humble man who dedicated his life to raising his
four children. His non-judgmental and loving nature reflected his belief and reliance in the grace of a merciful and forgiving God. Always the jovial conversationalist, Waynon made countless friends and touched many lives along the way. He was known
for his endless generosity and unwavering loyalty. Waynon was faithful one-hundred percent. He valued his McInnis descent and considered Bonnet’s Chapel hallowed ground. He enjoyed a glass of sweet tea, Coca-Cola or ginger ale, a good book, telling a
long-winded story and the song of a mocking bird. He was a skilled genealogist and was proud of his Southern heritage and Scottish ancestry.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Bonnet’s Chapel at the McInnis
Cemetery off Cold Springs Loop in Anacoco. A memorial service will be held in Austin, Texas the following week. Inquiries for the family may be directed to Bob Boyt, at Heritage Rowe Funeral Home in Leesville.
