Gene Dwayne Booty

Funeral services for Gene Dwayne Booty, 73, of Robeline, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville with Rev. John Burns, Rev. Mark Christian and Rev. M.C. Green officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kisatchie Cemetery in Kisatchie, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 9 a.m. until
time of service at the church.
Gene, the son of Arthur David and Bertie Dowden Booty was born on December 13, 1937, in Kisatchie. He passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his residence in Robeline. Gene was the Natchitoches Parish top
basketball player in 1957. He worked for KCS Railroad for 28 years and 10 months as a brakeman. He loved to fish and caught lots of big catfish, played the guitar and loved to garden. He was a longtime member of Leesville First United Pentecostal
Church where he was involved in the jail ministry and the nursing home ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Martha Darlene Booty Adams; brother, Wilbur Booty and sister, Tommy Lea Blackwell.
He is
survived by his wife of 50 years, Madeline Sue Moore Booty of Robeline; children, Kevin D. Booty and wife Brenda of Ragley, Tamara Edmond and husband Darrin of Monument, Colo., Timothy D. Booty and wife Angela of Ball, Kristi Bryson of Richmond, Va.
and Angela McQuillin and husband Ricky of West Monroe, and 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Adams, Samuel Booty, Rebecca Booty, Gabrielle Edmond, Ethan Edmond, Wesley Edmond, Grey Bryson, Samara Booty, Blake Ashworth and Victoria Ashworth.
