Funeral services for Doris M. Thaxton, 85, of Anacoco, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. D. R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco,
under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday, March 14, 2011, at the funeral home.
Doris was born on June 3, 1925, in Shreveport. She passed
away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at her residence in Anacoco. She was a native of Shreveport, but she lived most of her life in Anacoco. She began her career as a bank teller in Shreveport, was a homemaker and owner of Thaxton’s Ceramics. She was
member of First Baptist Church of Anacoco and also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly DuBois of Anacoco and Linda Furlow and husband J.R. of Anacoco; four grandchildren, grandson and caregiver, Rodney
Young, Glen DuBois, Jason Robichaux and Kelly Prejean and 10 great grandchildren.
