Funeral services for Willie Mae Adams, 86, of Simpson, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at the Simpson Church of God in Simpson, with the Rev. John Green, Rev. Bob Schlemmer and Rev. Lorraine Smith officiating. Burial will
follow in the Welcome Cemetery in Simpson under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. and on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 from 9 a.m. until service time at the
church.
Willie, the daughter of Thomas Humpery and Jessie Barnes Soper, was born on August 8, 1924, in Garrard City, Kentucky. She passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker,
a great cook, loved to sing and worked in the prison ministry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Monroe Adams Sr.; son, Rev. Terry Adams; grandchildren, J. R. Adams and Thomas R. Adams; daughter-in-law, Sandra Adams;
three brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas L. Adams of Jackson, Tenn., Earl Eugene Adams and wife Charlotte of Conway, S.C., James M. Adams, Jr., of Ridgeway, Va., and Paul E. Adams and wife, Shelia of Wynne,
Ark.; daughters, Mona Mae Collins and husband, Buford of Axton, Va., Pamela J. Collins and husband, Kenny of Coeburn, Va.; daughter-in-law, Carol Adams of Simpson; brother, Tommy Soper of Greenville, Ohio; sister, Nancy Lane and husband Jack of
Westland, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
