On February 1, 2011 in Alexandria, Howard R. Hunt, a retired Leesville bus
driver of #137, joined other bus drivers gone before. Howard, 61, was a life resident of Leesville and was a 1967 graduate of Leesville High School and was a member of St. Michaels The Archangel Catholic Church of Leesville where he was a 3rd and 4th
degree Knight and served as Treasure of the Knights. In 2002, he served as King of the Mardi Gras Court. He also was owner of Howards Corner Grocery, Hunts Taxi Cab Company and Hunts Estates. After retirement he worked in role play at Cubic and was
an avid New Orleans Saints fan and LSU Football fan.
Holy Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the St. Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church of Leesville with Father Mauricio officiating. Burial will follow in the
Castor Cemetery of Leesville. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday, with Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will end at 9 p.m. and start again at 8 a.m. a.m. till 10:30 a.m. the day of the services at Hixson. Preceding him in death were his first
wife, Cathy C. Hunt; parents, William Ottis, and Levy Funderburk Hunt, and a sister, Linda Hunt Selsor. Survivors are wife, of 12 years Connie Hodges Hunt of Leesville; four sons, Phillip Hunt and wife Nancy of Leesville, Michael Dorough and Wife
Mindy of Denham Springs, Robert Edmond Hunt of Leesville, and Howard Ottis Hunt wife Amy of New Orleans; one daughter, Samantha Rose Hunt of Korea; one brother, John Fitzgerald Hunt and wife Pam of Centre, Ala.; special nephew, Jon Craig Hunt of
