Funeral services for Mrs. Bernadean T. Collins, of Simpson, were at 3 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Simpson Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial followed in the Welcome Cemetery in Simpson under the
direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 4 p.m. until service time Monday in the church.
Mrs. Collins was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and was retired
from Fort Polk where she was a fabric worker. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Collins; one son, Morgan Dale
Collins and one sister, Ruthie Patterson.
She is survived by: her children, Donald and Patsy Collins of Simpson and Brenda and Ricky Burgess of Simpson; her daughter-in-law, Gwen Collins of Simpson; her siblings, Sammy Johnson of Houston,
Texas, Holis Tarver of Texas, and Lowell Tarver of LaCamp; five grandchildren, Morgan Collins, Greg Rachal, Theresa and Kurt Endris, Darran and Dawn Collins, Justin Collins; six great grandchildren, Blake Rachal, Zack Rachal, Mackenzie Rachal,
Katelyn Collins, Emily Collins, Lee Ann Collins.
