Elva Williams Redden

Mrs. Elva Williams Redden was born on November 7, 1918. She left her earthly body on December 23, 2010 at the age of 92. Her visitation will start at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 and continue until the time of the service on
Monday, December 27, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hornbeck.
She was the daughter of Necie Self and Joseph Anderson Williams “Uncle Jodie” both of Hornbeck. She was a native of Hornbeck and a 1936 graduate of Hornbeck High
School. After graduation, she furthered her education and went to Business College. After college, she then moved to Shreveport, where she met George David Redden, Jr. then later married him. They resided in Shreveport, where her husband Mr. Redden
worked for Swepco and was a minister of music at several churches in the Shreveport area. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she was a very friendly and Christian lady that never met a stranger. In 2002, she moved back to Hornbeck where she
was a member of the Hornbeck First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Redden and one son Kenneth Wayne Redden. Survivors include one son, George David Redden, III of Hornbeck; one grandson, John David “JD” Redden and
wife Sarah of Hornbeck; one granddaughter, Kimberly Susanne Redden of Leesville; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two previous daughter-in-laws, Brenda Knapp Corley and Karen Kay Grimes and
family.
