Funeral services for Michael Wayne Thompson will be held on Saturday,
December 18, 2010 at the Galilee Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Revs. George Jeane, Donnie Paul Lewing and Roger Jeane. Burial to follow in the Evans Cemetery in Evans, under the care of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will begin on
Friday, December 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church until service time on Saturday. Michael, 41, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Lake Charles and was working as an insulator for Eagle Insulation. He was born in Merryville but
grew up in Evans, where he was a 1987 graduate of Evans High School and was a member of Insulators Local #112.
He was avid hunter and fisherman; being outdoors with his family and friends was his joy, and he loved being a Paw Paw.
Survivors are his wife of 15 years, Jane Thompson of Evans; daughters, Angie Watson of Florien and Michelle Watson of Burkville, Texas; grandson, Brayden Watson; parents, Tommy and Lana Thompson Sr. of Ashland, Ky.; brothers, Tommy and Kristina
Thompson Jr. of Ashland, Ky., Keith and Kelly Thompson of Golden Meadows, Chris and Jenny Thompson of Ashland, Ky.; sisters, Kathy Thompson of Ashland, Ky. and Lacey and Aaron Holley of Ashland, Ky.; grandmother, Gwen Willis of Evans; and a host of
