Funeral services for Don Wood, 58, of Leesville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Greater Bethel AME Church in Leesville with the Rev. Joe Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in
Leesville, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service, Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the church.
Don, the son of Orland and Mattie Woods Wood, was
born on December 28, 1951, in Leesville. He passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 in Alexandria. Mr. Wood was a member of Greater Bethel AME Church and a self employed carpenter. He was a loving husband.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; sister, Evelyn Wood and brothers, Orland Beal Jr. and Howard Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Paul Wood of Leesville; stepchildren, Daniel Lewis of Leesville, Latasha Lewis of Natchitoches, Cedric Lewis of Leesville and
Will Lewis of Kinder; brothers, Milton Wood of Leesville, Cecil Wood of Hinesville, Ga., Bruce Wood of Hinesville, Ga. and Matthew Wood of Leesville; sisters, Geraldine Hollins of Arkansas City, Kan., Mavis Wood of Arkansas City, Kan., Julia King of
Leesville and Nora Carter of Hinesville, Ga.; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; aunts, Thelma and “L.B.” Collins of Leesville and Gaddie Manson of Ft. Worth, Texas; uncle, Hardy Woods of Longview, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
