Sgt. (Ret) Willard Davis

Services for Sgt. (ret.) Williard Davis of New Llano will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with the Revs. W.T. Shelton and Gary Bankson officiating. Burial with full
military rites will follow in the Stephens Cemetery near New Llano.
Visitation will begin on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville until 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Sgt. Davis
served 20 years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran; he served three tours of duty. During his years in the service he received the National Defense Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, Bronze Star of Valor, Expert Infantry and Vietnam Campaign
Medal. After his retirement he was former post commander of the VFW Lodge #134, and he owned and operated Dixie Cab Company and the B&W Plant Stand.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers.He was a native of Kentucky and
had lived in the Leesville area for over 40 years.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years. Billie Sermons Davis of Rosepine; daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Bobby Pruitt of Rosepine; son and daughter-in-law: Randy and Karen Cox of New
Llano; granddaughters: Savannah and husband Steven Thomas of Rosepine and Courtney Cox of New Llano; brother and sister-in-law: William and Golda Sue Davis of Williamsburg, Ky.; sisters: Geneva Stephens of Williamsburg, Ky., Angeline Clark and
husband Harold of Stearn, Ky., and Louise Clark of Williamsburg, Ky.
