Funeral services for Rosie Lee Smith, 97, of Leesville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at New Willow Baptist Church in Leesville with the Rev. Harrison Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the New Leesville Cemetery
in Leesville, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2010 at the church.
Rosie, the daughter of Simon and Lena Manson was born on June 25,
1913, in Leesville. She passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Leesville. Mrs. Smith was an active member of the New Willow Church family over the years, as a recording officer, member of the Usher Board, Woman’s Missionary Society and served as
the mother of the church. She was the oldest member of the church. She loved her pastor, the church and all mankind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Smith; son Lonnie Junior; five brothers; and four
sisters.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, nieces and nephews Willie Johnson and Roberta Smith both of Leesville, Rosie Lee Shine of Shreveport, Gertrude Harris of Chicago, Ill., Brady Manson and Terry Joe Hicks both of Newton,
Texas, Ann Jewell Allen of Portland, Ore., Vera Hollingsworth, Robert Lee Manson, and Mary Ann Thomas all of San Francisco, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mamie D. Manson of Oakland, Calif.; she also leaves a host of great; great great; and great great great
nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
