Funeral services for David Neal Morrison, 74, will be held at First Baptist
Church in DeRidder, Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Lindsey Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. David was taken home to be with the Lord on
Sunday, October 24, 2010, at his residence in DeRidder.
Mr. Morrison was a native of Leesville and a resident of DeRidder. He was a member of the 1954 graduating class of Leesville High School. He attended Louisiana Tech University and
McNeese State University. He was a member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder. He was a veteran of the military having proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a former president of the Beauregard Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, city
council and was a member of the City Planning Committee and Jury Commission for 38 years. He was a member of the Louisiana Home Builders Association and was a building contractor from 1972 until 2007, and founder of Building Inspection Group,
L.L.C.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jane Nolen Morrison of DeRidder; one son, Randy Morrison and wife Karen of Leesville; one daughter, Lindy Morrison Moore and husband Mike of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; one grandson, Chase Moore
of Pagosa Springs, Colo. and one granddaughter, Whitney Morrison of Leesville; and devoted mother-in-law, Maurice Nolen Burton of DeRidder.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Morrison and Edith Simmons Morrison of
Leesville.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will
continue Wednesday, October 27, 2010, from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at First Baptist Church in DeRidder.
The family requests donations be made to Agape Clinic in DeRidder or the Building Fund at First Baptist Church in
DeRidder.
