Paul Snell

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Snell will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,
October 12, 2010 in Pitkin First Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Thurman officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin.
Mr. Snell, 80, of Pitkin entered into eternal rest on
Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Christus St. Patrick Hospital of Lake Charles.
Paul was a United States Army Veteran and American Legion member of Elizabeth Post # 410 for years. He was president of the Pitkin Gas and Water Board for 45
years and served as the Vernon Parish Ward Five Justice of the Peace for 20 years. He was a lifetime carpenter and farmer by trade and owned Snell’s Café and Skate Ring in Pitkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cullen Snell and
Lilly “Bill” Burch.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Jerry Snell of Pitkin; two sons, Anthony “Red” Snell and his wife, Michelle of Oakdale and Mike Snell and his wife, Dora of
Pitkin; one daughter, Tina McElhaney of Moss Bluff; one brother, Lester Snell and his wife, Dorothy of Pitkin; two sisters, Sybil Hughes and her husband, John of Orange, Texas and Annie Rose Martin of Leesville; 10 grandchildren, J. P. Davis, Dustin
Maddox, Jacob Strother, Candace Snell, Julia Spurlock, Salena Snell, Charity Snell, Braedon Snell, Jaelon McElhaney and Kensley Grace Thibodeaux; two great grandchildren, John Henry Paul Snell, II and Hunter Davis; one special cousin, Shirley
Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Snell, Robert Harper, Mike Snell, John Hughes, Larry Miller and Candace Snell.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin on Monday, October 11,
2010 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 8 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. and in Pitkin First Baptist Church from noon until his time of services at 2 p.m.
