Funeral services for Lee Roy Moore, 68, of Creole, will be held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at New Willow Baptist Church in Leesville with the Rev. Harrison Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Leesville, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Mr. Moore was born on November 4, 1941 in Creole. He passed peacefully away on Monday, October 4, 2010 in his son’s Lee Moore, Jr. home.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother
Adam Moore and Lucille Moore. Lee lost his family in Hurricane Audrey on June 27, 1957. Except his two sisters Armegene M. Davis and Alberta Lewis and his two brother’s Iris (bowboy) Moore and Joseph Moore which now precedes him in death; except for
his one sister Armegene M. Davis. Lee Roy had to start work at a very young age to survive. He was the 2nd Chief on the Pokie Boat and also a Duck Hunting Guide at Oak Grove Hunting Club in Creole. He worked very hard all his life till he got hurt.
Lee and his loving wife Dorothy F. Moore (which now precedes him in death) moved to Anchorage, Alaska to be close to his only living sister Armegene M. Davis. He loved to sit and listen to the Blues and make people laugh.
He
is survived by his sister Armegene Davis and his thirteen children, Jesse Johnson, Cynthia Moore, Lee Moore, Jr., Veronica Moore, Stephanie, Moore, Cliff Moore, Ronald Moore, James Moore, Moore, Douglas Moore, Tamara Moore, Shronda Moore, Mae Moore
& Krystal Bowman; 36 grandkids and 38 great grandkids. He will greatly be missed by all his family and friends.
