Avis Brown Koonce, 82, of Hornbeck, passed away September 21, 2010 in Many
Medical Center.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday September 23, 2010 at Grace Assembly of God in Hornbeck, with Rev. James Hickman and Melvin Hatten officiating. Burial followed in Prewitts Chapel Cemetery Hornbeck.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Diane Dowden and husband Kenneth of Hornbeck, Sue Ann Byles and husband Tommy Ray of Many; sisters, Doris Rowe, Joyce Barnes, and Yvonne Moore all of Hornbeck; grandchildren, Tammy Simpson, Tommy
D. Byles, Tina Pilcher, Greg Walsh, Chris Vaughn and eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Avis is preceded in death by parents Mamie and Elmer Brown, husband Odean Koonce, one sister and two
brothers.
Visitation was Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Heritage Rowe Funeral Home Leesville from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until service time.
