Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Danny M. Hensley, a retired military police
officer, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with Rev. Lloyd Atchison officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Canaan Cemetery Leesville. Visitation will begin
on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. and from 8 a.m. till service time on Tuesday in the Hixson Chapel.
Mr. Hensley 51, of Rosepine died on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 in Rosepine. He was born in Heidelberg Germany but grew up in Austin,
Texas. In 1980, he joined the United States Army and served as a military police officer for 18 years. During that time he received two Bronze Stars, the Army Commendation Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. After retirement, he was self-employed
in construction, was a member of the Army Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club and a member of Canaan Baptist Church of Leesville.
Survivors are his former wife of 26 years Anita Hensley of New Llano; two sons Shawn and wife Brandy Hensley of
Rosepine and Mark Anthony Hensley of New Llano; two brothers Charles “Chuck” Hensley of San Antonio, Texas, Thomas “Tommy” Hensley of Moutainburg, Ark.; three sisters Karla Florhaug of Austin, Texas, Laurie Downey of Grapevine, Texas and Cheryl
Carroll of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren: Kayla, Kasey, Koty Huffman and Briann Marie Hensley of Rosepine. Words of comfort may be given to the family at www.Hixsonfh.com.
