Funeral services for Silvia Zhukovec, 74, of Leesville, will be held in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 10 a.m. with Father Jude Brunnert officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery
under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mrs. Zhukovec passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Rosepine Retirement and Rehab Center. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of the service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Mrs. Zhukovec was born and reared in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she met and married her husband, Petro, and lived before moving to Chicago, Ill., in the late 50’s. She moved to Leesville, in 1996. She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by son, Victor Zhukovec of DeRidder; daughter, Lydia Kibble of Spring Grove, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Petro Zhukovec, and mother and father, Ella and Arnaldo Laatze.
