Eddie Joe Reeves

Eddie Joe Reeves, 61, passed from this life on Friday, July 9, 2010 at
Leesville.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Minister will be Rev. David Stagas. Burial will be at the Rocky Mt. Cemetery, Highland, Ala., where Eddie will
be laid to rest in his family’s plot. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville.

He is survived by his son, Joseph “Joey” Reeves and
wife Pam; daughters, Melody Reeves and her fiancé Ronnie Arthur, Jr., Marlana Gill and husband Joel Gill and Lori Staggs; grandchildren, Dustin Reeves, Jacob Reeves, Janie Reeves, Chyla Winslow, Steven Winslow, Justin Gill, Malik Staggs and Mason
Staggs; ex-wife and best friend, Patricia Reeves; son-in-law, Joshua Winslow; sisters, Verla Meredith and Georgia Winfield both of Prattville, Ala., and Lena Cousins of Sylacauga, Ala.; brothers, Felix Reeves and Larmar Reeves both of Lapine, Ala.;
and many nieces and nephews.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Janie Ruth Reeves; one sister, Louise Walters; and one brother, Cecil Reeves.

Eddie was born in Lapine, Ala. on May 2, 1949.
After graduating from high school, Eddie joined the United States Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was then sent to Fort Polk where he was a drill sergeant until 1976. Upon leaving the Army, Eddie worked for a time at Royale Airlines and
then worked for several years on offshore rigs. For the past twelve years, Eddie had worked as a taxi driver for both Yellow Top Cab and T & T Cab Companies.
