Barbara Ann Harper, 71, passed from this life on Monday, July 5, 2010 at
LaCamp.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010, 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of LaCamp. Ministers will be Revs. Harlis Meylian, Sherman Busby and Don Turner. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery under the
direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, a dignity memorial provider. Visitation will begin today, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 5 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at Mt. Moriah.
Survivors include four sons, David Earl
Harper and wife Connie of Shreveport, Alan Foster and wife Juanita of W.Va., Curtis Wade Harper and wife Jennifer of LaCamp and Paul Devoy Harper of Alexandria; four brothers, Paul Gene Basinger of Ft. Smith, Ark., Joe Hoffman of McPhearson, Kan.,
Greg Hoffman of McPhearson, Kan. and Richard Basinger of Van Buren, Ark.; three sisters, Betty Lou Creel of Greenwood, Ark., Judy Sandness of Colo. and Bobby Caroline Roberts of Bakersfield, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Barbara was a native of Arkansas and had lived in LaCamp since 1963. She was a homemaker, worked as a nursing assistant, a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Pitkin, a board member of the East Central Vernon Water District, an Avon sales
representative and a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Barbara was a very loving mother and grandmother; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
