Wayne Dae Cryer

Funeral services for Wayne Dae Cryer, 62, of Otis, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville with the Reverends John Burns, Mark Christian, Eddie Tilley and Arthur Richmond
officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp 8 Cemetery in Otis, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until Midnight, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 and Wednesday, June 23 from 5 a.m.
until time of service in the church.

Wayne, the son of John Willis and Rubie Helen Smith Cryer was born on May 26, 1948, in Alexandria. He passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the V.A. Hospital in Houston, Texas. He served
in the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War and retired from the Angola State Prison as a Correctional Officer after 24 years. Wayne was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling,
working in the yard and helping his brothers-in-law with their construction projects. Most of all he loved visiting with family and friends, especially during family reunions and holiday gatherings. He was a loving and devoted husband, father,
grandfather, son, brother and friend. Wayne was the support of his family and extended family and an excellent provider.
He was preceded in death by son, Wayne “Buster” Cryer; father, John Cryer; and brothers, Sherill Cryer and Nathaniel
Cryer.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Sharon Willis Cryer of Otis; daughter Brandi and husband, Jason Stokes of Otis; mother, Rubie Cryer of Rosepine; sisters, Sherrie Holden and husband, Doug of Glenmora, and Marilyn Fletcher and
husband, Wiley of Rosepine; grandchildren, Savannah and Melissa Stokes of Otis.
