Joe Brown, 90, passed from this life on Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence in Leesville.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with the Rev. Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home, a dignity
memorial provider. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Melvina
Brown of Leesville; 1 son, Larry Joe Brown of Leesville; 1 daughter, Terri Yvonne Brown of Houston; 9 grandchildren, Shannon, Scottie, Michael, Ricky, Heather, Larry, Laci, Holly and Cody and 7 great grandchildren, Laurashae, Ricky, Abigial, Kolin,
Jadyn, Shy and Linkon. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Brown, Sr.; mother and father, Ida Perkins Brown and William C. Brown; three brothers, (twins) Otis Brown, Odis Brown and Jack Brown.; and one sister, Eunis Brown.
Joe
was a life resident of the Leesville and Pickering areas. He was a graduate of Pickering High School. He proudly served in the United States army during WWII stationed in the Philippines. He was a retired civil service employee and a member of Cooper
Baptist Church. Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and he loved working in God’s creation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfh.com.
