Charles “Buck” Mayo, 63, passed from this life on Monday, May 10, 2010 in
Leesville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 3 p.m. at East Leesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Gil Arthur and Rev. John Welch officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of
Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, a dignity memorial provider. Visitation will begin at Hixson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Thursday, May 13, 2010, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Survivors
include his loving wife of 35 years, Marsha Mayo of Leesville, Rusty Lynn and Ashley Mayo of Ft. Greely, Alaska, Derek and Cheryl Mayo of Leesville, Frank Ryan Mayo of Leesville, D Wanda “Dumpy” and Charles Moore of Leesville, Ray and Nancy Mayo,
Scott, Wayne and Betty Mayo of Alfo, Texas, Zachary, Chritopher, Lyndsey, Paige and Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Townsley Mayo and Fred Mayo; brothers, Frank and Ted Mayo and sisters, Ailene Larney and Ruby
Mayo.
Charles was a life resident of Leesville and a graduate of Leesville High School where he was a member of the first baseball team. He was drafted into the United States Army after high school where he served in Vietnam. He worked
in construction as a painter. He was an avid, die hard New Orleans Saints fan and thought he died and went to heaven when the Saints won the super bowl. He was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church. Words of comfort may be shared with the family
