Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lea Patterson will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the Beech
Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Anacoco. Visitation will be held on Monday May, 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville, and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Church.
Mrs.
Patterson passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Riverside Hospital in Alexandria. She was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and Anacoco, was also a member of the White Park Church of Christ in Leesville. She retired from Federal Civil Service
after serving many years as a supply management representative at D.O.L. at Fort Polk. Mrs. Patterson loved to read and sew. She spent lots of time in her garden and was a wonderful cook. She will be missed by everyone that were blessed to have known
her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Franklin and Ellen Self McElveen; two brothers, Kenneth McElveen and Winston McElveen and one sister, Wilma Rae Callaghan.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband of
60 years, Gaston “Pat” Patterson of Anacoco; one son, William Henry Patterson of Anacoco; two daughters and sons in-law, Cassandra and Hub Jordan of Leesville and Candice and Don Nichols of Waller, Texas; one brother, Henry Milton McElveen of
Leesville; two sisters, Mildred Jones of Minden and Glenda Yeager of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, David Jordan, Brandon Jordan, Amanda Phillips and Jody Patterson and one great granddaughter, Brooke MaryLea Patterson.
