Funeral services for Mary Jackson Johnson, 76, of Leesville will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11
a.m. at the New Willow Baptist Church in Leesville, with Rev. Harrison Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, May 7, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday, May
8, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Mary, the daughter of Robert and Lorene Bailey Jackson, was born on March 24, 1934 in Marshall,
Texas. She passed away on May 3, 2010 at the Deer Creek Hospital in Leesville. She grew up and attended the schools of Sabine Parish. At an early age she was affiliated with Macedonia Baptist Church in Zwolle and later with New Willow Baptist Church.
After traveling with her husband in the United States Navy she returned to Leesville and worked for 20 plus years at the Woodlands (formerly known as Kurthwood Manor). She was a hardworking and devoted worker on her job and in her
home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters, including her fraternal twin, Martha.
Those left to cherish her legacy of hard work, integrity and uprightness are three sons, Robert
William of Orlando, Fla, Oscar Carl of Covington, Ky and Charles James of Leesville; two daughters, Mrs. Faith Elaine Johnson-Smith of Leesville and Ms. Bridget Ann Johnson of San Diego, Calif; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one
sister, Mrs. Lucille Perry of Zwolle; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Dow of Clarksville, Tenn. and Howard Perry of Zwolle, as well as one great aunt, Mrs. Lucille Roberson of Vowels Mills and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends.
