Funeral services for Delores Maedell Yates, 75, of Katy, Texas, will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at
noon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Joseph Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be on Friday, April 30, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. also at the church.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Delores, the daughter of William and Ruth Mae Jones Cobbs, was born on May 31, 1934 in Pensacola, Fla. She passed away on April 24, 2010 at her residence
in Katy, Texas.
She worked for Civil Service at Fort Polk for 30 years and retired as a Dental Hygienist. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Past Worthy Matrons Lodge #71. She
loved to travel.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Yates and son, Sherry.
She is survived by sons, Troy (wife, Nancy) of Stockton, Calif. and Rory (wife, Yong-A) of Campbell, Calif.; daughters, Darryl
(husband, Wilbert) of Spring, Texas, Monique of Houston, Texas, and Violet (husband, Chris) of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Curtis Covington and Virgil Rucker both of Calif.; three nieces, Shirley Cleveland (husband, Tommy), Helen McClendon (husband,
Joseph) and Lynette Jones all of Chicago, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
