Funeral services for Anna K. Prewitt, 81, of Anacoco will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco. Rev. Melvin Smith and Rev. James Herrington will be officiating. The burial will follow in the
Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the funeral home and then on Wednesday, March 31, from noon until service time in the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial
Funeral Home in Leesville.
Mrs. Prewitt was born on February 1, 1929 in Hays Ranch, Texas, the daughter of Melvin D. and Martha Hudson Keith. She passed away Monday, March 29 at the Byrd Regional Hospital in
Leesville.
Anna retired from Civil Service as a Payroll Clerk from Fort Polk. She attended Oak Grove Congregational Methodist in Burr Ferry. She loved gardening both flowers and vegetables and had a passion for reading. Anna was a
loving mother and grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren showed through any time she got on the floor and acted four years old just so she could play with them.
She was preceded in the death by her husband, Willie Gene Prewitt;
daughter, Pamela Prewitt Carver; granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Prewitt and great grandson, Jayce Alan.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jean (husband, Lloyd) Bartlett of Rosepine and Mona (husband, Randy) Sandel of Florien;
her son, Stephen Lloyd (wife, Sandra) Prewitt of Katy, Texas; Brother, Louis (wife, Patricia) Keith of Victoria, Texas; sisters, Melvyn Louis of Plantation, Fla., Faye Ward of Calif. and Gracie Abell of West Covina, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren.
