Funeral services for Mrs. Lanell Jackson Andre will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the Simpson Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Simpson under the
direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 5 p.m. till 10 p.m. in the Simpson Baptist Church and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
Mrs. Andre was a
native of Simpson, but had lived for many years in the New Orleans area where she worked as a packer for Domino Sugar Company and for Deluxe Check Printers. In 1986, she and her husband Joseph Andre moved back to Simpson where she worked as a relief
Post Master at the Simpson Post Office and was a member of the Simpson Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Andre and son, Joey Andre.
Survivors are Martha Andre of Simpson; Dottie
and Danny Hall of Simpson, Sheila and Ernie Ordoyne of New Orleans; sister, Edith Tolbert of Hineston; grandchildren, Michelle and Steven Cooley of Anacoco; Jennifer and Dale Strauser of Simpson and Kevin Ordoyne of New Orleans; great grandchildren,
