Funeral services for John Albert Skinner will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the
Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with Rev. Patrick Austin and Walter Collins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery Leesville under the
direction of Hixson Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in Hixson Funeral Home at 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 17, 2010, from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Skinner, a life resident of the Leesville
area, had worked in road and highway construction throughout the state of Louisiana and also worked until his retirement from the Vernon Parish Police Jury. He attended South Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, John Adams Skinner and Bertie Cobb Skinner; and step-mother, Bertie Grimes Skinner.
Survivors include Angelia and husband Mark Brooks of Denham Springs; Damian Skinner of Leesville; Shane and Tonya Skinner of Simsboro; and
Alicia Skinner of Arcadia; sister, Margery Skinner of Leesville; brother, Robert”Buck” Skinner of Gulfport, Miss.; grandchildren, Randi and Katie Brooks, Katie and Dylan Skinner, Kaitlyn, Adam and Shelby
Skinner; and special companion,
Darlene Bowman of Newton, Texas.
