Funeral services for Ada Lea Heard, 85, of Leesville will be held
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Jerry Penfield and Rev. Wayne Kite officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9 from
5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on March 10 from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Ada Lea, the daughter of David Carson and Lillie Jonsey
Richardson Craft, was born on October 5, 1924, in Orange, Texas.She passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.She retired in 1978 as a Civil Service Worker at Fort Polk. She attended First Baptist Church of
Leesville. She also was a member and officer of NARFE.
After retirement, Ada enjoyed taking king cake decorating classes and painting classes, traveling with her husband in their travel trailer, walking with her friend every morning,
shopping with Trelvis Thomas, gardening and being with friends.
She is preceded in death by sister, Martha Zenter; brother, Carson Craft and grandson, Chuck Weeks.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry
Heard; daughter, Patti Richardson (husband, Todd) of DeRidder and brother, Wayne Craft of Shreveport.
