Lola “D” Tilley Brown

Celebrating services for Lola “D” Tilley Brown, 67, of New Llano, will
be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at noon at New Willow Baptist Church in Leesville, with Rev. Harrison Fields, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20 from 9
a.m. until time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Lola, the daughter of Lexton and Willie Mae Hamilton Tilley was born on September 25, 1942, in Leesville. She
passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Mrs. Brown worked for the Vernon Parish School Board, at Vernon Middle School as a cook and at Leesville Junior High as a custodian until her health failed. She
was a member of New Willow Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the coordinating committee. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers and shopping.
She was preceded in death by son Cedric “Pete” Johnson, daughter,
Ronnie Johnson and her grandmother Lola Tilley.
She is survived by two sons, Willie L. Johnson of Alexandria and Willie Johnson “Jr.” of Leesville; one daughter Rosland Williams Johnson of Leesville, mother Willie Mae Hamilton of
Leesville; one brother Glover Carter, Jr. of California, two sisters Barbara Bady of Alexandria and Earnstine Wesley of Lake Charles; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
