Ollie Mae Richmond Russell Stephens passed away Tuesday morning Feb 9, 2010, at Vicksburg Convalescent
Home in Vicksburg, Miss. Born November 24, 1924 in Louisiana, Ms. Stephens moved to Leesville at an early age and was a long time resident of Leesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moyese and Charles Wesley Richmond; husband, Thomas
Alton Russell, and a brother James (Bo) Richmond.
Ms. Stephens is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jonnie and Billy R. Middleton, Sr., of Vicksburg, Miss., two sisters, Flo Fessler and Mary Brumfield of Leesville; six
grandchildren, Daniel Bourgeois, Madison, Tenn; David Bourgeois, Leesville; Angela Rucker, Vicksburg, Miss.; Kimberly Bamburg, Shreveport; Beverly Dowden and husband Lynn, of Leesville; Billy R. Middleton, Jr. and wife Monika of Jackson, Miss.; and
three step-grandchildren, Felesia Bynog, Janet Hebert and Susan Simmons, all of Louisiana. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Merritt and husband Karl, of Vicksburg Miss.; Daniel Bourgeois, Jr., of Nashville, Tenn.; Holly
Dowden, of Leesville; Nick Rucker, of Vicksburg, Miss.; and several step-great-grandchildren. Four great-great-grandchildren, Summer and Chloe Dowden, of Leesville and Karl and Landon Merritt, of Vicksburg, Miss., also survive her.
Ms.
Stephens was an avid supporter of the Leesville Senior Center and the Senior Olympics, where she won several gold medals in archery and other sports.
Funeral services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home, Friday, February 12, 2010, 10
a.m.
Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Her visitation will begin on Thursday, February 11, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Chapel. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
