Memorial services for Douglas Wayne Prewitt, Sr., 66, of Anacoco will be held Saturday, February 13,
2010 at 1 p.m. in Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco. Bro. Huey Haymon and Bro. Wesley Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby
Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Douglas was born on May 7, 1943 in Anacoco, the son of Willie “Bill” and Cammie Jackson Prewitt. He passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fl. Mr. Prewitt
was born and raised in Anacoco and he graduated from Anacoco High School in 1961. He served in the Air Force and worked various construction jobs in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi until retiring. He moved to St. Petersburg, Fl. in September 1995,
where he enjoyed fishing and the beach. He married Shirley Hall on December 24, 1979.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Prewitt; step-daughter, Velda Hall; parents, Bill and Cammie Prewitt; brothers, Edwin Prewitt, Willie
Gene Prewitt and Buddy Prewitt; sisters, Evon Prewitt and Sue Hamm and nieces, Teresa Tabor and Pamela Prewitt Carver.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Wayne Prewitt, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fl; sister-in-law, Anna K. Prewitt of
Anacoco; nieces and nephews, Barbara Bartlett of Rosepine, Mona Sandel of Florien, Stephen Prewitt of Katy, Texas, Greg Tabor of Leesville, Daisy Lowe of Tacoma, WA, Michael Vance of Anacoco, David Vance of Anacoco and Houston Gaston Prewitt, Jr. of
Houston, Texas.
