Rubylie Wright, 85, died at 4:25 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, in her home.
She was a native of Middlecreek and had lived in Sulphur since 1948. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in DeRidder. She loved to
travel across the United States. Rubylie was a member of the Louisiana Educators Association and the Retired Teachers Association. She taught school in both Calcasieu and Vernon parishes, including W.W. Lewis Middle School, LeBlanc Middle School and
Rosepine Elementary School.
Survivors include her sons, Charles B. Wright and his wife Doris of Sulphur, Ronald E. Wright and his wife Mary Jane of Natchitoches and Carl Gene Wright and his wife Ramelle of Dalton, Ga.; five
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Belton Wright; brother, William E. Norsworthy and sister, Edna Canady.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, in
Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Canady will officiate. Burial will be in the Florien Cemetery at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Words of comfort
