Funeral services for Matthew Thomas Jansen, 30, will be held Saturday,
January 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Castor Baptist Church in Leesville. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Louis Magee. The burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the church,
Friday, January 22, 2010. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Mr. Jansen, passed away Sunday, January 17 in Beaumont, Texas. He was born June 22, 1979 in Denver, Colo.
Matthew
graduated from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Ala.as the Salutatorian of his class in 1997. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Alabama Huntsville with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. While at UAH he was awarded
All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All American honors. He also took great pride working as an engineer for Bigler Corporation on the Houston Ship Channel. Matthew was an avid outdoorsman, a loving and doting father, and a beloved husband,
brother and son. Matthew was a dedicated Christian and loved His Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Whitney Mock Jansen of Houston, Texas and their daughter Avery Ann; parents, Marvin and Donna Jansen of Tuscaloosa, Ala.;
brothers, Andrew Phillip of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and John Paul (wife, Erica) Jansen of Mobile, Ala.; grandparents, Tome and Francis Jansen of Dallas, Texas and Lillian Whitesel of St. Louis, Mo.; and his father and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Sharon Mock
of Kerrville, Texas.
