Gertraud Auguste Montgomery, 82, passed from this life on January 18, 2010 in Leesville.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 beginning at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a
Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Leesville under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Survivors include her daughter, Sonja Funderburk and husband Jimmy of Slagle; 2 sons, Gerhard Montgomery and wife Zenaida of DeRidder and Danny Montgomery and wife Karen of Franklin, Tenn.; two grandsons, Dr. Jason
Funderburk of New York, N.Y. and Andrew Montgomery of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Emerald Montgomery of Berkley, Calif. and Kathryn Montgomery of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Rosemarie Gerhardt of Hanau, Germany.
She was
a native of Germany but had lived in Leesville most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She attended St. Michaels Catholic Church and was a former volunteer for the American Red Cross of Fort Polk. She was a
