Funeral services for Mrs. Donnis Harmon Reichardt will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at Labby
Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco.
Mrs. Reichardt was born March 4, 1933, in Evans, the daughter of George and Hassie Bell Harmon. At the age of two years, Donnis became ill with
polio. Through the assistance of the Shriner’s Hospital in Shreveport and the loving care of her parents and family, Donnis was able to regain much of her mobility using braces. She overcame many difficulties to accomplish much. She graduated from
Leesville High School in 1953, and received a music degree from Louisiana College in 1956. While assisting with activities for the military at the Serviceman’s Center at Leesville First Baptist Church, Donnis met the man who would be her husband for
52 years, Dr. Lowell K. Reichardt, Sr.
She served alongside her husband as he pastored for over 40 years; serving at Eastside Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Co, Antioch Presbyterian Church, Quitman, First Baptist Church of
Jonesboro, Quitman Baptist Church in Quitman and Pollock First Baptist Church. They also served for a short time at Good Hope Baptist Church at Anacoco and Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks. Donnis served the Lord faithfully as she worked with
Children’s Choirs and served as church pianist. She touched the lives of many children and adults teaching voice and piano.
Mrs. Reichardt is survived by her husband, Dr. Lowell Reichardt, Sr.; two sons, Donn-Evans Reichardt of New
York, NY, Sonny Reichardt and wife Judy of Pollock, two daughters, Leah Reichardt of Pollock, Paige Williams and husband Buddy of Anacoco; five grandchildren, Michael Reichardt and wife Holly, Keith Reichardt, Ame Reichardt, Sarah Kate Ramsey and
husband Jared, and Andrew Williams and two great grandchildren, Reese and Myles Reichardt. She is also survived by two sisters, Georgie Nell West and husband Wayne of Leesville and Cathy Brown of Lexington, N.C.
