Funeral services for Walter E. “Butch” Bridges, 58, of Hornbeck will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday,
October 29 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Kenneth Baggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck. Friends may visit Wednesday, October 28 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., and on Thursday
from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Butch was born in Camp Polk on May 18, 1951 and passed away on October 26, 2009 at his residence in
Hornbeck. He grew up in Hornbeck where he graduated in 1971. He enjoyed life and spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Bridges; father, Oden E. Bridges; and grandmother, Aletha Brown
Dew.
He is survived by his mother, Bessie Brown Stephens of Leesville; sisters; Roseanna Cardenas and husband Luis of Hornbeck, Dixie Fontenot of Moss Bluff, Dottie Rose of Melbourne, Fla., Elisabeth Dillard and husband Kenneth of
Anacoco, and Toni Palestina and husband Frank of New Orleans; brothers Danny Bridges of Hornbeck, Everett Bridges and wife Paula of Anacoco, Albert Bridges and wife Maritza of Slidell and William Bridges of San Diego, Calif., as well as a host of
nieces and nephews.
