SAMUEL PRICE

SSG Samuel D. “Bulldog” Price (USA Ret), 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 20096 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
He was born on May 2, 1927 in Kurthwood to Samuel and Fannie Price.
He devoted
his life to the service of his country, spending 28 years in the U.S. Army where he received many awards. His torus were Vietnam, Korea and Italy before retiring. Samuel then started his own wrecker service in Leesville. He also was employed by the
Vernon Parish School Board as a bus driver.
Samuel had a desire to help others.
He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and mentor for the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Men Mentoring Group.

He was married to Ceola Jackson and to this union one child was born.
Samuel was united in holy matrimony to the late Carrie Ann Price. With this union he raised her son as his own.
He was an active
member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Sam loved to box and he won several awards at Ft. Polk. His boxing nickname was “Dizzy Dancing.”
He leaves to cherish his memories: two
sons, Hirracco “Rocky” Price of Leesville and Christopher Sanders; one daughter, Deniece Downing; one brother, Henry Price of Leesville; ten grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A viewing will be held
Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Mansfield. Services will be Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the New Morning Glory Baptist Temple on Highway 84 West in Mansfield. His pastor, Rev. Clennon Turner,
will officiate the services.
