Karlis Berzins, 68, passed from this life on September 21, 2009 at his residence in Leesville.
He was born in Latia, Russia to Janis W. and Anna Berzins. He proudly served in the United States Army for a period of six
years, during which he served in the Vietnam War.
Karlis had lived in Leesville since 1966 where he was a business owner selling jewelry and coins. Karlis had worked for the Vernon Sheltered Workshop for the past 15 years until his
recent retirement.
Survivors include his son, Brian Berzins and wife Shonda of Leesville and grandchildren, Toni Ramsey of North Dakota, Colton, Madison and Karagan Benzins all of Leesville.
Visitation will be held at
Hixson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24, 2009, 4 p.m until 9 p.m. Interment will be cremation under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
