James Cecil Walker

Mr. James Cecil Walker, 99, of Pitkin, passed away September 19, 2009 at his residence. James was a lifetime resident of Vernon Parish where he was a farmer and cattleman. He had also worked for the Sante Fe Railroad and the hospital at
Fort Polk. James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pitkin and loved to farm and fish.
Funeral services for Mr. James Cecil Walker will be AT 3 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Pitkin with Rev.
Eugene Williams and Rev. Bryan Thurman officiating. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Pitkin Sunday September 20, 2009 from 2 p.m. until time
of service.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his son James Calvin “Jay” Walker and wife Annette of Vinton; three daughters Louise Carroll of Pitkin, Shirley Davis and husband Harold of Leesville and Gertie Williams and husband
Frank of DeRidder; one sister, Virgie Neal of Branson, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 25 great great grandchildren. James had a total of 118 descendents. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtie Smith Walker and daughter Edoil
Abel.
