Philip Michael Beard, born on June 26, 1986 to Paul Beard and Jeanne Bolton Beard in Leesville, passed
from this life on Friday, Sept 4, 2009 at the age of 23
yrs, 2 months and 8 days. He was a life long resident of Simpson and was a 2004
graduate of Simpson High School where he played basketball for the Broncos.

He was a published poet and had been nominated to the Who’s Who in the
International Poet Society. He worked for Cubic Defense of Ft. Polk and had
worked for Arrowhead Construction.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson
Funeral Home of Leesville with the Rev. Carol Adams and Terry Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery in Simpson under the direction
of Hixson. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 11 a.m. through 9 p.m., and
then from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Hixsons.
Preceding Philip in death was
his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Emily Beard.
Survivors are his parents: Paul and Jeanne Beard of Simpson; brother and sister in-law Andrew Beard and Patti of Canadian, TX; sister Nikki Beard of Simpson; maternal grandparents
Johnnie and Regenia Bolton of Simpson; niece Jacee Johns-Beard of Canadian, TX, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
