Amos Toney, 92, passed from this life on Aug. 20, 2009 at Leesville.
Survivors include
his loving wife of over 70 years, Neva McRae Boycher Toney; sister, Rosie Woodham of LeCompte; granddaughter, Debi Ross and husband Ricky of Galveston, Texas; great grandsons, Mason and Tanner Ross of Galveston, Texas; great granddaughter, Haley Tuck
Stevens of Leesville; great great granddaughter, Taylor Stevens of Leesville and his very special friends whom he referred to as his son and daughter, Charles and Kathy Brooks of Slagle.
He was preceded in death by his mother and
father, Lela Robins Toney and Buck Toney; son, Amos Charles Toney; granddaughter, Darla Toney Tuck; brothers, Thomas Toney and Lawrence Toney.
Amos was a self-employed carpenter for several years and also worked for the Vernon Parish
Sheriff’s Office as a deputy. His hobbies were gardening and hunting with his best friends. He was one of the founding members of East Leesville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, 11 a.m. at
Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Burial will be at Castor Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will begin on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home.
