ERMA RAE “PAT” PERKINS

Pat Perkins was a life-long resident of the Leesville-Pickering area.
She loved the
outdoors and was an avid sports fan, especially for the Pickering Red Devils. She personally enjoyed camping, fishing and deer hunting. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Pat was a retired school bus driver; bookkeeper for Midwest
Dairies and a co-owner of Pats’ Gas and Grocery on La. Highway 1211. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, always sacrificing herself for her family.
Pat is survived by her three sons, Irby Perkins, Jr. and wife Martha of
Leesville, William Michael “Mike” Perkins and fiancée Sherri Plummer of Leesville, Wendell “Wink” Kay Perkins and fiancé Teresa Elliott of Leesville; her daughter, Bonita Gail Perkins Hunt and husband Robbyn of Marrero; stepchildren, Merlin Wallace
and husband J. C. of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. and Buddy Perkins of Lake Charles; one brother, Jesse T. Smith of Leesville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren with a host of nephews and nieces.
Pat
was preceded in death by her husband Irby Perkins, Sr. and her brothers and sisters, Radin, Cartis, Everett, Florence, Myrtie Mae, Pearl, Ruby , Bernice and Deloise.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at 11 a.m.
at Hixson Funeral Chapel of Leesville. Bro. Travis Murray and Bro. Robbyn Hunt will be officiating.
Burial will follow in Stephens Cemetery of Pickering under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday,
Aug. 18, 2009 at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., all at Hixson Funeral Chapel.
