Funeral services for Mr. Michael Lee Brister will be held on Saturday,
Aug. 1, 2009 at 11
a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder with Rev. Ronnie LaLande and Rev. Ross Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the care of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be from
4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday; 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Mr. Brister, 41, of DeRidder, passed away on Tuesday in DeRidder. He was a life-long resident of
DeRidder. Michael worked for E&K Construction. He was a wonderful person who loved to help others. Michael was even a donor so he could help people in death.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Athus Brister; two brothers
Richard Brister and Joseph Brister; baby sister Helen Ruth Brister; and his grandparents Lizzie and Huey Brister, Laura and Clifton McCollough, and Helen Davis.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Margie Brister;
companion Cynthia Gill; sons Jody James Buxton and Dalton Doyle; daughters Angel Lee Ann Brister and Ashley Austin; stepdaughters Jocoby Gill and Michelle Gill; granddaughter Elizabeth “Sookie” Buxton; grandsons Tyler Vangansoke and Edward Stephens;
brothers Randy and David Brister; sister Debra Hoskey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
