Richard Moore

Richard L. Moore 84, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in a local hospital. Mr. Moore was born and raised in Leesville. He lived most of his life in the Lake Charles area. He worked at Cities Service and Cit-Con for 50 years.
Mr. Moore proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded two purple hearts. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Moore; one brother, Randolph Moore; and
grandson, Dr. Eric D. Moore.
Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Ophia M. Moore; one son, Richard D. Moore and wife Debbie of Plano, Texas; and one granddaughter, Lindsay Minier and husband Paul of Richmond,
Texas.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Minister will be the Rev. Edgar Evans.
